Smith, Howard Samuel, 87, passed away on March 5, 2012. Howard was a lifetime resident of the Riverview area. He proudly served in the US Army and received a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star during WWII. He enjoyed coaching Girls Softball, working with the Boy Scouts of America and serving as president of the Old Car Club of Hillsborough County. He is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Rose Smith. Howard is survived by his loving family, sons, Dallas Keith (Jill) Smith and Richard Smith; daughter, Linda (Craig) Orrison; brothers, Gene (Joanne) Smith, Chuck (Michelle) Smith and Frank (Evelyn) Smith; life partner, Pauline Sayre; 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. There will be a celebration of Howard's life on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at 12:30 pm at his residence. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that guests bring a potluck dish and a memory to share.
