Helmut F. Arens, 80, of Brandon, Florida, passed away on Saturday, August 7, 2021.  A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 20, 2021, at Resurrection Catholic Church with Rev. Daniel R. Kayajan officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the Mass. Burial will follow the service at Serenity Meadows Memorial Park Funeral Home & Crematory.

Helmut was born in Valdivia, Chile to the late Helmuth Arens and Magdalena Wiese.  He married the love of his life, Maria Eugenia Courbis, and together had three children. After several international moves due to work, Helmut immigrated to Puerto Rico where he built a prosperous ceramic business with his wife and became a United States citizen.   In 1999, made a final move to Florida, were he had the blessing of working with his son in Albeck Gerken, Inc. (later Iteris, Inc.), and dedicated his free time to do what we loved best, to help his family and friends.

He is survived by Maria Eugenia Courbis; sister, Johanna Arens, of Santiago, Chile; children, Karin Arens (James Evans) of Bonaire, Georgia, Helmuth Arens (Kerleen Lopez), Riverview, Florida and Heidi Duran, of Brandon, Florida; ten grandchildren, Johann Santiago (Mariah Andersen), of Riverview, Florida, Juan Esteban Santiago, of Brandon, Florida, Alejandra Evans, of Bonaire, Georgia, Helmut A. Arens, of Riverview, Florida, Karin Santiago, of Seffner, Florida, Paul Evans, of Warner Robins, Georgia, Raphael Evans, of Warner Robins, Georgia, Frantz Arens, of Riverview, Florida, Nicholas Arens, of Riverview, Florida, and Marcelo Duran, of Seffner, Florida; three great-grandchildren; twenty nieces and nephews.

Helmut was preceded in death by his brother, Georg Arens.
