Helen Marie Terry (nee Leffler) was born November 13, 1932 in Louisville, Kentucky. Her father, William Jacob Leffler, was a fireman; her mother, Mary Margaret Fitzpatrick, a homemaker. Helen was the youngest of eight children, four boys and four girls. As a young woman visiting her best friend Jean's house, she saw a picture of Jean's brother, a handsome air force flyer. Helen told her girlfriends "I'm going to marry that man." That marriage lasted more than 60 years, until J.C. Terry's death in 2013. Helen loved to dance, and she was very good at it. Helen danced into her late 70s, always willing to teach those less gifted. After J.C.'s death, a series of strokes forced her from her Valrico home and into assisted living. She passed from this earth aged 84 on June 7, 2017 secure in the knowledge of the love of her family and friends. Helen is survived by sons Phillip and Keith. She is predeceased by husband J.C. Terry and eldest son Patrick Terry. She was a strong-willed woman who spoke plainly, loved deeply, and is missed by all who knew her. Services are scheduled for today Friday, June 9, 2017 from 12-2pm, at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home.
