Harold Edgar Shaw Jr. 96, of Thonotosassa, passed away on Monday, August 8, 2011 at the James A. Haley Veterans Hospital in Tampa. Harold was a lifelong resident of the Tampa area and was of the Episcopalian faith. He also was a former member of the D.A.V. having served in the United States Army during World War II.

Harold enjoyed solving puzzles during his spare time and loved watching television. He also loved his family, especially spending quality time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Harold was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Delores Jean Shaw who passed away in 1990 and a son, Harold Edgar Shaw III. He is survived by a daughter, Kathalynn Pickrell and her husband, David of Thonotosassa; 4 grandchildren, Wendy White, Darrell Pickrell, Victoria Seaman and Katie Lee Nelson; 6 great-grandchildren, Tiffany Daugherty, Joshua Pickrell, Nate Seaman, Ashlee Seaman, Rebekkah White and Hannah Sale.

Inurnment services will be held privately at a later date at Sarasota National Cemetery in Sarasota, Florida.
