Obituary

Harold Edward “Skip” Craig, 82, of Brandon, Florida passed away surrounded by loved ones on 23 June 2026. Harold departed this world into the arms of the One True God and King, Jesus Christ, our only Mediator and Advocate. Harold was born on May 7th, 1944 to Harold L. Craig and Margarett H. Simmons in San Francisco, California. He was a beloved husband and devoted father and grandfather. He is preceded in death by his wife Jerri, father Harold, mother Margarett, sister Garrett, and Uncle Thomas.

Those left to cherish his memory are: sons Daniel Craig, Timothy Craig, and David Craig; daughters Amy Craig (Dwyer) and Jami Estes (Martinez); sisters Becky Craig (Harper) and Peggy Craig (Jones); daughter-in-law Lacie Craig; sons-in-law John Dwyer and Carlos Martinez; brothers-in-law Melvin Jones, Kevin Harper; and cousins Gwendolyn Timm (Burgess) and Garett Craig (Choiniere), in addition to a host of other cousins and grandchildren.

Harold loved spending time with family and friends, hosting family barbeques with competitive pool volleyball tournaments, telling potentially funny jokes, and cheering for the Kansas City Chiefs. He proudly served honorably for 32 years in the United States Navy, was a Vietnam War veteran, and a patriot.

Harold was a graduate of Lawrence High School in Lawrence, Kansas. He met his wife Jerri Elaine Craig in Virginia Beach, Virginia in 1987. They moved to Brandon, FL in 1989. Harold will be carried in the hearts of his family forever. A memorial service will be held at 4 pm on 1 July 2026 at Serenity Meadows, 6919 Providence Rd, Riverview, FL 33578, 813-677-9494.
