Gregory Kurt Goetze passed away on Wednesday, June 7, 2017. He was married for 52 to years to Irene (nee Hazti) He is also survived by son Nicky Goetze, his wife Linda and their children Nate and Nicole and daughter Vicki Goetze-Ackerman, her husband Jim, and their son Jake, and his sister Linda Braender and her husband Barry and nieces Emily Gossett (Rob), children Bryant, Ansley, and Andrew, and Alison Williamson (Matt), Corie Oliver (Jeff). Gregg was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on February 26, 1940 to Ferdinand and Mary (Lewein) Goetze. He attended Washington High School and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee where he received both bachelors and masters degrees. He served as a school psychologist for the Milwaukee Public Schools, Riverview School of Manitowoc County in Wisconsin. In Georgia he worked for the Franklin County Schools, Washington-Wilkes Schools, and Social Circle City Schools. Gregg had two great loves, his family and golf. He combined those loves in raising his children to be wonderful people who shared his love of golf. Among his most special moments were those on the golf course with both Nick and Vicki as a mentor, caddy and dad. Private memorial services will he held for the family. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Lewy Body Dementia Association. Serenity Meadows Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
