Glenda Gail McKenzie July 23, 1948 – August 18, 2025 Glenda Gail McKenzie, (best known as Gail) 77, of Sun City Center, Florida, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2025. Born on July 23, 1948, in Houston, Texas, she was the daughter of the late Carlos and Mildred Pegues. Gail dedicated her career to serving others, retiring from the State of Maryland as a Juvenile Services Resource Officer. Beyond her professional life, she was known for her creativity and talent.

A gifted and crafty soul, Gail found joy in making costumes, jewelry, shell art, and paintings; unique pieces that reflected her warmth and imagination. She loved to travel, sing karaoke and experience new restaurants with her daughter. Her greatest passion, however, was her family. She loved deeply and gave generously, always supporting those around her. Among her many joys, none was greater than being a grandmother to her beloved grandson, Aidan.

Gail is survived by her daughter, Laura McKenzie (Raymond Turner Jr.); her grandson, Aidan McKenzie; her son, Paul McKenzie (Rebecca Branham); her sister, Paula McGown; and nephews, Marc Gruzenski (Nari) and Shawn McGown (Morgan).

She was preceded in death by her sister, Cheryl Cogan; her nephew, Grant Gruzenski; and her parents, Carlos and Mildred Pegues.

A memorial service will be held on September 10, 2025, from 5pm to 7pm at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home in Riverview, Florida. Interment will take place at a later date at Plainview Cemetery in Normangee, Texas, where she will be laid to rest with her parents.

Gail will be remembered for her creativity, generosity, and unwavering love for her family and friends. Her spirit will continue to shine through the many lives she touched.
