IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Glenda P
Baldwin
September 19, 1949 – August 8, 2024
Glenda Raye (Perryman) Baldwin passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on August 8th at age 74. She was born September 19, 1949, in Madison, TN, to loving parents, Raymond and Mary Perryman. She attended Nashville Public Schools and later earned a BA in Home Economics and Elementary Education from Middle Tennessee State University. She later earned a Master's in Education degree majoring in Reading.
She was a beloved and highly honored elementary school teacher for over thirty years in four states, mainly Hillsborough County, Florida. Glenda was widely known for her caring spirit and love for her students. She was also active in several churches as a Sunday School teacher and worker.
Glenda is survived by her loving and devoted husband John for 54+ years. They met in church in Nashville in August 1966 and after dating for three years were married on December 12, 1969. She is also survived by her two children she loved and cherished dearly: daughter Meredith (John) Kennerty and son Drew (Kathleen) Baldwin. Her grandchildren George, Mary and Kate were the light of her life. She is also survived by her very best friends, sister Brenda (Jim) Agee and brother Ed (Karen) Perryman, all of Nashville.
She enjoyed many hobbies and interests including traveling, collecting Depression Glass, cooking, sewing, playing all sorts of games, and watching her Hallmark movies. Her quick wit and sense of humor brightened every situation in which she found herself.
Despite many years of serious health challenges, she never lost her smile or trust in her Savior. She loved the Lord deeply and was looking forward to heaven. She spent many hours in prayer and never complained about her circumstances. Heaven has gained an angel and her family, while sad and devastated, are rejoicing in the Lord for her new body, mind, and eternal home in heaven.
