Vinson, Gladys Isbell "Izzy", 88, of Tampa, passed away on May 19, 2011. Gladys moved to the Tampa area from TN when she was 16 years old. She attended the old Tampa Business College and worked for Pioneer Telephone Co. She remained at Pioneer Telephone as it transitioned to GTE, then Verizon and retired after over 30 years of service. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Tampa, the National Secretaries Association and the MacDill Officers' Spouses' Club (MOSC). She was also very active in Beta Sigma Phi, where she held many offices, including Chairman of Fundraising. She is preceded in death by her husband, Harry M. Vinson, both parents, two sisters, one bother and one great-nephew. Gladys is survived by her loving family, sister-in-law, Mildred Isbell of TN; nieces, Cynthia Isbell (Norman) Krueger of Tampa FL, Shelby Jean (Harold) Townsend of TN, Martha Sue (J.D.) Anderson of TN and Barbara Jean (Sam) Brodsky of Tampa, FL; nephews, Robert Kenneth (Verna) Isbell of Perry, FL and William George (Marie) Isbell of TN; nine great nieces and nephews; 10 great-great- nieces and nephews and two great-great-great-nieces and nephews. There will be a funeral service on Sunday, May 22, 2011 at 6:00 pm at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home. Gladys will be laid to rest in Union City, TN.
