George John Shea, age 74, passed away April 30, 2021 in Tampa, Florida.  George was born in Brooklyn, New York on November 13, 1946. He married Mary Ann Gaugh on March 21, 1965; they were married 54 years. He was a devoted brother, father, grandfather, friend and child of God.

George touched the lives of many in his precious time with us. George and Mary Ann raised their children in Sayville, New York, with their home open to family and friends who were always welcome; no one could visit without being offered a chair and a meal. George was a highly respected fixture in the community; everyone knew and loved him.  George was always a hardworking man. He started his career as a Mechanic because of his love and knowledge of cars, eventually working his way up the ranks to Service Director. In George's spare time, he loved to spend time on the water.  Fishing was one of his many passions. But George's greatest passion of all was his grandchildren.  There was nothing he would not do for them, and they ALWAYS came first.

George will be forever remembered by his sons, George (Marcia) and Michael (Mary) and his grandchildren, Jonathon, James, Kimberly, Emily and Kelly. George is also survived by his siblings, Pauline Martel and Timothy Shea.

George is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Shea,  parents, Joseph Shea and Pauline Shea; as well as his siblings, Robert Shea, Debbie Shea, and Thomas Shea.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 13, 2021 from 6:00-8:00PM at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home, 6919 Providence Rd. Riverview, FL 33578. A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held at 10:00AM on Friday, May 14, 2021 at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home with burial to follow at Serenity Meadows Memorial Park.
