Barnes, George Reecy, 83, of Brandon passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2012. Born in Tampa, Mr. Barnes was a life long resident. A veteran of the United States Navy, he was a retired engineer for TECO Electric and he enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling. Survivors include his daughter, Katherine Barnes; sister, Marjorie Barnes; several nephews, nieces and his beloved "Granddogs", Timmie and Bendi. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time.
