Gene Alan Newsom, 73, Valrico passed away on Monday, May 31, 2010. Mr. Newsom had been a local resident since 1995 coming from Dublin, Ohio. He was a member of St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge F&AM #18 (Delaware, Ohio), the Aladdin Shrine (Columbus, Ohio), Presidents Club of The Ohio State University. A beloved husband, father and grandfather, Gene enjoyed OSU "Buckeye" football and golf. Survivors include his loving wife of 17 years, Louella, sons; Thomas (Mi Kyong) Newsom, Jeffrey (Diane) Heath, daughters; Deborah (Richard) Myers, Darla (William) Watts, Kristin (Christopher) Combs, Sharon (Christopher) Northup, sister; Rita (Phillip) Welce, 19 grandchildren and one great granddaughter. A memorial service will be held at St. Andrew's United Methodist Church at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 4 (3315 Bryan Road, Brandon, FL).
