Belcher, Gene Russell, 62, of Riverview, FL, passed away on December 31, 2018. Gene was a respiratory therapist for 36 years. He worked alongside his father, George, who was also a respiratory therapist, for many years. Over the years, Gene has worked at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, KY, Lakeland Regional Hospital in Lakeland, FL, Norton Healthcare in KY, and Florida Hospital in Tampa, FL. Gene met his wife, Joelle, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center and they soon realized they were soul mates. They enjoyed gardening, camping and spending time with each other. They lived in Louisville, KY for a few years before moving back to FL to be closer to their grandkids. Gene was avid Harley Davidson rider and certified Harley mechanic. He also enjoyed bowling. He is preceded in death by his father, George Belcher; step-mother, Kathy Belcher; and father-in-law, Daniel 'Cricket' Booth. Gene is survived by his loving family, wife, Joelle; mother, Irene Burchett; mother-in-law, Gilberte Gallet; children, Brooke Marie (Jorge) Britton, and Jordan James Schafer; grandchildren, Anaeiz Britton, Aydin Britton, and Landin Britton; siblings, Sharon Lucille Criswell, Caron Louise Criswell, and Shawn Renee King Trent; niece, Brooke Renee Trent; great-nephew, Trenton Aaron Long.
