Gary Trussell, a man of God, a husband, a father and a grandfather, went home to heaven to be with the Holy One Blessed be He, the Creator and a builder of all things. He passed in his sleep on Tuesday, October 29th, 2019.
Gary was born in 1952 to L.G. and Maxine Trussell in Albertville, Alabama.
He leaves behind a wife, Sherry Trussell, married 46 years, two sons, Joshua and David, five grandchildren and a sister Brenda Wheeler.
Gary was a hard worker and a problem solver. He loved a challenge but most of all he was a man of great faith. Gary always made time for people in need of a word of encouragement.
He coached baseball and basketball teams for both of his boys and enjoyed fishing and spending his spare time with his grandchildren. He turned down a football scholarship for an academic scholarship and had many theological and technical degrees.
Gary worked with NASA during the moonlanding and as they helped the U.S. military develop technology used during the first Gulf war. He has spent the last sixteen years with Gray Construction, a company he admired and appreciated for their morals, ethics and faith.
He was also an excellent guitarist and piano player. Gary is someone who left a great and precious mark on all who were blessed enough to know him. He will be greatly missed.
