Obituary

Everett Anthony Hawkins, 88, of the Tampa Bay area sadly passed away on February 23, 2023. He was at the Masonic Home of Florida in St. Petersburg, Fl.

Everett was born on March 4, 1934 in Oklahoma City, OK. He was raised in St. Louis, MO by the late Vernon H. & the late Frances Hawkins.
Everett spent 1952 - 1955 serving his country in the National Guard. He received an Honorable Discharge as a Corporal. He was very proud of his sharpshooter qualifications. As an adult, Everett married his first wife, Joan, and moved to Florida where they raised their three children. He drove semi trucks for most of his adult life for Bowman Transport.
Everett was a coach to his children in baseball & softball. He was a very involved mentor to many young players and took pride in helping them succeed. Town & Country Little League & Skyway Park Little League was always a "second" home to him.
Everett loved his time serving within the Masonic Organization, Order of the Eastern Stars (Past Worthy Patron), Shriners International & Job's Daughters. As a lifetime member of the Masons, he was a devoted member.
On April 7, 1990, Everett married his soul mate, the late Lynnette Hawkins (Merz). They spent a beautiful life together. Everett's world stopped when he lost his sweet Lynnette. Everett also gained two wonderful bonus daughters & one bonus granddaughter. After retiring Everett worked for the Hillsborough County Sheriffs Office where he proudly served as a Parking Enforcement Officer and a Crossing Guard. He enjoyed riding along with Deputies every chance he could! He sure made many friends along the way.
