Meredith, Evelyn, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2008, after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was born in Moultrie, GA, August 16, 1928, to the late John and Odessa Strickland. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Meredith; daughter, Elaine Redfearn; and brother, James Strickland. She is survived by her loving family: son, Larry (Faye) Meredith; sisters, Edith Fields and Jackie Coombs; son in law, Bill Redfearn; grandchildren, Lucretia (Shayne) Thompson, Lance (Cami) Meredith, Travis (Nickie) Redfearn, and Timothy (Christine) Redfearn; great grandchildren, Ava and Rylan Thompson, Garrett and Bella Meredith,Grace Redfearn, and Meredith Redfearn. She was retired from the Hillsborough County School Food Service System after 30 years of service at Palm River Elementary School. There will be a Celebration of Evelyn's Life on Thursday, April 17, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home. The family will be accepting friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will take place at Fellowship Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery following the service. Evelyn touched so many people in a wonderful way and will be truly missed by all.
