PROKOP, Elsie May, 88, was placed in God's hands on
April 15, 2007.
She was born in the Panama Canal Zone on January 31,
1919.
She was a registered nurse and was commissioned into
the U.S.
Naval Nurse Corps reaching the rank of full
lieutenant.
She served as a nurse in World War II, where she
treated the
causalities in the Pacific from 1943 to 1946.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years,
Joe.
From 1946 to 2003 she lived in Ventura, CA and
attended
Assumption Catholic Church and did volunteer work
in the Assumption School library before moving to
Seffner, FL.
She is survived by her
daughter, Joyce (Prokop) Marchand of Switzerland,
son, Joseph Prokop, Seffner,
sister, Mildred Garrison, Huntersville, NC,
five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
