Accomplished woman, wife and mother Elna Ruth (Turvin) Grant, 77, passed away on Sunday February 5, surrounded by her beloved family. Elna Ruth was born on July 10, in Dothan, Alabama, and moved when she was three years old to Polk County Florida where she grew up.

Elna Ruth was a trailblazer, moving out of her family's home after graduating from Auburndale High School to live as a strong independent woman in the big city of Tampa.

At the age of 21, Elna Ruth married Robert "Bobby" Grant and went on to have two sons.

Elna Ruth was preceded by her parents – Ollie and Reginald Turvin – and brothers Ezzie, Ernie and Eddie. She is survived by husband of 57 years Bobby; sons Robby and Adam; her dearest sister Ella Jean (Missy) Roggow; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Visitation and services will be held at Serenity Meadows Memorial Park in Riverview on Wednesday February 15 from 4pm to 7pm, followed the next day by a burial service at 10:30am at the Sarasota National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in honor of Elna Ruth to her two favorite charities: St. Jude's or Muscular Dystrophy Association.
