Columbia (nee Horan), Elizabeth Ann, 83, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her children, on January 24, 2023, in Riverview, Florida. Elizabeth was born on April 24, 1939 toAnne M. (nee McGann) and William F. Horan, in Brooklyn, New York. She graduated from St. Rose of Lima School, Brooklyn and graduated from Bay Ridge High School, Brooklyn. She previously worked for Bank of America and Bell Telephone Company before starting her family. She married her husband, John on September 17, 1960.Elizabeth was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and aunt. She had a strong Catholic faith and enjoyed volunteering at her children's Catholic school's lunches, bingo nights and in the church's gift shop. She found peace and comfort, during her daily prayers, by saying an Act of Contrition every day. Elizabeth (Betty) was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John, her siblings, Thomas, Pauline, John, Edward and Timothy and her son-in-law, Michael.
She is survived by her children, John, Jr. (Maria) of Wimauma, Florida, Debra Fredrickson of Sun City Center, Florida, Dorothy (John) Kantaris of North Fort Myers, William of Port Charlotte, Florida, and Paul (Dayna) of Largo, Florida; grandchildren, John III (Ashley), William Jr. (Nichole),
Kristen (Mike), Matthew, Lauren, Kaitlin, Bryan, Danielle, Bricen and Leyton; three great-grandchildren, Jacob Aiden, Violet Rose and Karley Rae; her sister, Kathleen (Charles) Stephens and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews and friends.
Serenity Meadows Memorial Park is handling arrangements. A funeral Mass will be held at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 702 Valley Forge Blvd, Sun City Center, Florida, 33573, on February 8, 2023, at 11:00 A.M.
Bishop Raymond F. Chappetto, a friend of the family for 52 years, will be the celebrant for the Mass. An interment will follow at Serenity Meadows Memorial Park, 6919 Providence Rd., Riverview, Florida 33569.
