Rhey, Elbert Hobart, "El", 83 of Riverview, passed away December 7, 2007. He is survived by his devoted wife, Doris M. Rhey; daughter, Cheryl E. Rhey; son and daughter in law, William L. and Dena E. Rhey; his grandchildren, John, Kendra, Mary, Michael, and Parker, and five great grandchildren. El Rhey was a life-long Lutheran and served in the U.S. Army, both in Europe and the Philippines, during World War II. Growing up in Homestead, PA, he was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh. He was retired from the Ford Motor Company, Rhey and Mentzer Ford and the Mountain View Inn near Greensburg, PA. A memorial service will take place on Thursday, December 13, at 10:00 a.m. at Apostles Lutheran Church, 200 Kingsway Rd. Brandon. Inurnment with military honors will follow at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Apostles Lutheran Church local Benevolence Fund.
