Obituary

In Loving Memory of Edward Miro
Edward Miro was a true New Yorker at heart — strong, outspoken, funny, stubborn, and unapologetically real. He lived life on his own terms, said what he meant, and loved deeply, even if he didn't always show it in traditional ways. His presence was powerful, and his absence will be deeply felt.
He was a proud United States Army veteran who carried himself with strength and resilience. Throughout his life, he faced challenges head-on, including his years in recovery, which reflected his determination and inner strength.
Growing up, Edward loved sports, especially baseball. He won many championships in the leagues he proudly played in, and that competitive spirit stayed with him throughout his life. He also loved basketball, but nothing compared to his passion for music.
Music was his soul. Being a DJ wasn't just something he did — it was who he was. He loved creating a vibe, bringing people together, and losing himself in the rhythm. Behind the turntables, he found joy. Music gave him energy, purpose, and a way to connect with the world.
Above all, Edward loved his family. He leaves behind his children: Tammy, Jessica, Eddie, and Destiny, who will forever carry pieces of his strength, humor, and fire within them.
He was a proud grandfather to Mikey and Jayden, Mela, Christina, Caleb, and Matthew — each of them a continuation of his legacy.
He was also a devoted dog dad to Rambo, Callie, and Remi, who brought him comfort and companionship.
Edward is reunited in peace with his mother Rafaela Garcia; his stepfather Luis Garcia; his father Miguel Miro; his brothers Miguel Miro and Paul Miro; and his grandmother Carlina Nieves.
The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers, hospice staff, and hospital teams who provided compassion, dignity, and care during his final days.
Edward Miro will be remembered for his bold honesty, his unforgettable humor, his love of music, and the fierce love he had for those closest to him.
Until we meet again.
