Edward J. Hauser Jr., cherished husband and father, departed this life and returned to the Father on April 3, 2011. Edward was born in Philadelphia, Pa. on June 13, 1932. He graduated from La Salle College High and then joined the U.S. Air Force. He married the love of his life, Patricia Ann O'Reilly at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, Phila., May 29, 1954. He and "Patsy" enjoyed a wonderful military life in Pa., France and Fla., retiring at MacDill A.F.B., obtaining the rank of Major. He then graduated from Univ. of Tampa with a degree in economics.
Ed loved and was loved by everyone he met, a stranger to none; he helped the poor, the homeless and anyone in need. A devout Catholic, Ed was involved in many ministries; Salesian Cooperators, Cursillo, Kairos prison ministry and Respect Life which is closest to his heart.
Ed is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Patricia, children; Edward (Cindy), Daniel (Joyce), Margaret Mary, Gerard, Christopher (Theresa), God Daughter, Robyn, Ann Marie his special care-giver, grandchildren; Christina, Christopher F., Jeramy, Damien, Christopher R., Jessica, great-grandchildren; Dylan, Madeline, Krysta.
Visitation will be held Thursday, April 7th, 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Serenity Meadows, Riverview. A funeral mass will take place at St. Stephen Catholic Church, April 8th at 10:00 a.m. with visitation beforehand from 9:00-10:00 a.m., 5049 Bell Shoals Rd., Valrico, 33596. Interment will follow at Serenity Meadows Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Respect Life Committee at St. Stephen.
