Edvena Harris Washington of Sun City Center, FL, was born in Germantown, PA, on June 4, 1931 to Moses Seymour Harris and Lillie Mae Rose Harris. She was the youngest of the 3 siblings. She lived most of her life in North Wales, PA and she and her husband moved to Florida in 2004 to be closer to their daughters.
Edvena grew up in the church as a small child and she accepted Christ at a young age and was baptized. She loved to sing and was in the church choir for years. Another love of hers was the arts, especially painting, drawing, (winning an award at high school graduation for her artistic abilities,) creative activities and of course shopping.
Edvena and Donald F. Washington (Deceased) were married on September 19th, 1953, and were blessed 67 years of marriage. They had two girls; Donna F Williams and Denna E. Ali; twins.
Edvena was a clerk typist in her profession, retiring the first time from Hinkle (Amchem Products) in Ambler, PA and then retiring the second time from Montgomery County Community College in Pennsylvania. She spent a lot of her retired years volunteering with many organizations to include North Penn Hospital (Lansdale, PA) and Brandon Regional Hospital (Brandon, PA) as a "Pink Lady," and also with the Wimauma Mission in Wimauma, FL. to name a few.
She was known by many names, Mom, Edvena, Gammie, Nana, Aunt Weenie, Mary, Mrs. Washington, and friend.
Edvena made her transition to her Heavenly home to be with her husband (Don) on Tuesday, November 11th, 2025, at Plaza West, Freedom Plaza in Sun City Center, FL.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald F. Washington, her parents Moses and Lillie Harris, her brother, Joseph Harris; her sister, Madline Wall, and many friends. She leaves behind to cherish her loving memory, her daughters, Donna F. Williams (Larry) and Denna E. Ali (Junab, Deceased) and two grandchildren, Lawrence "Tyler Williams and Kurban N. Ali; all who loved her and will miss her dearly.
