Edith L. Gonzalez, 67, of Tampa, has ascended into the heavens, September 5, 2017. Born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, Mrs. Gonzalez has been a local resident since 1982. She was a phenomenal woman who was devoted to her family and God and spent much of her life demonstrating this. She had a passion for cooking for her family and was an avid gardener. She was an angel walking about the earth and now she is an angel in the heavens. She enjoyed donating to various charities such as St Jude's, the Humane Society and her local church. She was a former secretary for the Department of Agriculture. Because her late husband was former military her burial will be at Florida National Cemetery 6502 SW 102nd Avenue Bushnell, FL 33513.
Mrs. Gonzalez was an exemplary Catholic at the Nativity Catholic Church where they will be offering her Mass at 705 East Brandon Blvd., Brandon, FL 33511, services will begin with a Mass at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, September 22nd, followed by her burial services at 2:00 p.m. Survivors include her, son; Francisco Jose (Elizabeth) Gonzalez of Huntersville, N.C., daughters; Maria L. (Sharif) Rasmy of Orlando, FL., Rosa M. (TJ) Haddad of Tampa, FL., sisters; Nora Gonzalez and Maggie Gonzalez both of Areceibo, Puerto Rico.
