Dylan James Sumner, 38, died on February 21, 2023.He was born on December 19, 1984, to Ron and Shayla Sumner at Brandon Hospital in Brandon, FL. He was the Sumner's first-born child. Along with other childhood activities like playing with Legos, dreaming about space, and participating in athletics, most importantly Dylan made a profession of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ at the age 9 and was baptized at Bell Shoals Baptist Church in Brandon, FL. He graduated from Durant High School in Plant City, FL, in 2003. He worked in the Computer Industry immediately after high school, and later attended college at both Hillsborough Community College in Tampa, FL, and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, FL. However, school was not his life calling and found his career in Commercial Transport after earning his CDL license in 2019. The last place of employment was at Paper Transport, Inc. in Jacksonville, FL, where he drove and delivered around the Southeast. He died too young—suddenly and tragically.

Dylan is survived by his mother and father; his sister, Tania Wilson, his brother-in-law, Robert, his nephew, Jack, his niece, Morgan; his sister, Brooke Turner, his brother-in-law, Owen, his nieces, Õhi'a and Umi; his brother, Chance, and his sister-in-law, Kathryn, his nephews, Hudson and Ethan, and his niece, Aubrey; his grandmother, Faye Pennington Russell; along with his aunts, uncles and cousins.

Dylan is preceded in death by his grandfather, James Lee Sumner, and grandmother, Doris Sumner; and his grandfather, James David Pennington. His parents know that God is both good and sovereign, even though they do not understand the mystery of God's will. His family misses Dylan very much.

Dylan's funeral will be held at Bell Shoals Baptist Church in Brandon, FL, at 9am on Tuesday, February 28, 2023.
