Duane Roy
Crouse
May 17, 1940 — November 26, 2018
It is with great sadness that the family of Duane Crouse announces his passing after a hard fought battle with cancer, on November 26, 2018 at the age of 78. Duane will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 42 years, Joan Crouse, his daughters Debbie Boyle and Cheryl Crouse, brothers Donald and Carl, grandchildren Lisa Goblirsch and Brandon Sigmund, and great grandchildren Carter, Whitnee, Nakala and TyShawn. Duane was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Mildred Crouse and his son Dennis Crouse.
Duane was a wonderful man that was loved, is missed and will always be cherished. "Sparky", as he was called by his oldest friends, was born in Hamburg, IA, to Lee and Mildred Crouse on May 17, 1940. He went to school in Nebraska City, NE.
He married as a young man and had two children, Debbie and Dennis. After the marriage ended, he moved to Kansas City and then Denver where he met and married Joan in 1976. They had a daughter, Cheryl in 1980.
Duane was in the trucking business his entire life. This work took him and his family from Colorado to Arkansas and Illinois before settling in Florida in 1987. He retired as a Truck Salesman from Kenworth of Central Florida in 2013.
Duane loved to travel. His work gave him the opportunity to see many different parts of the country. He continued to share this love with his family on their many road trips. Duane also loved watching sports and playing golf. For years he'd get up at 4:30 am on a Sunday to meet his golfing buddies for breakfast before their 7:00 am tee-off. He even played during some of his chemos.
Duane was an amazing husband, father, brother and had a sense of humor like no other.
Memorials may be given to Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, FL in lieu of flowers. The family of Duane Crouse wishes to extend our sincere thanks to all the doctors and nurses at Moffitt Cancer Center that cared for him, to Lifepath Hospice and especially to Dr. Brad Fouraker.
