LAWSON, Douglas Curtis, 53, of Riverview, FL, passed away on September 4th, 2015. He passed suddenly in his home. Doug was born on February 1, 1962 in Tampa FL, a son of the late William Lemuel Lawson, Jr. and Lynne Barbara Hough Lawson. Doug was educated at King High school, class of 1980 and graduated from Tampa Technical Institute with an A.S. degree in Electronic Technology. He was raised and worked his entire life in the Tampa Bay area. He was an avid car enthusiast with a passion for making systems more efficient. He was constantly servicing others in their needs for anything mechanical, electrical, or handyman related. He worked for CB Richard Ellis Property Management as the Operations Manager, AS Engineering. He was instrumental in making several buildings in Downtown Tampa LEED and Energy Star Rated. He consistently made buildings and systems more efficient. He is survived by his partner of 17 years, and wife of 10 years, Chandra Elaine Lawson of Riverview, FL; his brothers, William Lawson and his wife, Liz Lawson of Charlotte, NC, John Lawson and his wife, Tammy Lawson of Gainesville, FL; his daughter, Katie Lawson; grandson, Tucker James of Temple Terrace, FL; his stepson, Corey Waterman and his wife, Kasey of Brooksville, FL; and stepdaughter Alyssa Morley of Riverview, FL. A gathering to celebrate his life will start 3:00 p.m. with service 4:00 p.m, on Saturday, Sept. 12th, 2015 at Serenity Meadows, 6919 Providence Rd., Riverview.
