Dorothy "Jean" Romer age 71, of Ruskin Florida, a life-long resident of Chicago Illinois, entered into heavens gates on Thursday, June 14, 2018. A superb mother and homemaker, Dorothy was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends. She also enjoyed listening to music and watching TV especially Steve Harvey shows. She had a wonderful smile that could light up a room and she just tried to do the very best she could. Throughout her life she maintained a sweet and simple demeanor that won the trust and hearts of many. Her strong will to live, unwavering faith in God, and the love and prayers of family and friends is what sustained her through her final days. She will truly be our angel that lived, laughed, and loved.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Ora Lee Little; siblings, Jeffery Little, Perry Little, and LuAnn Jointer. Dorothy is survived by her loving family, husband of 38 years, Kenneth Romer; children, Laneutre Thompson, Tyrone Romer, and Bryan Romer; grandchildren, Tygonea, Dwayne, Jr, and Mya; siblings, Margarite Little, Michael (Cherry) Little, Mitchell (Trena) Little, Terry Little, and Angela (George) Hubbard; brothers and sisters in law, Sandra Sutherland, Sheila Rolle, Deidre Thompson, Freddy Delancy, James Delancy, and Bradley Sullivan. Unfortunately too many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews to list or even count. A memorial service will be held in Chicago at a later date.

This obituary was written in honor of my dearest Mother. It is my tribute to her memory, which will be carried on in the legacy of love which is now in each of us; the lives she helped to form and the lives that were touched by her love.
