Mahieu, Dorothy Carolyn, 84, of Brandon passed away on Wednesday, May 16, 2012. Born in Bronx, New York, Mrs. Mahieu had been a local resident since 1973 after moving here from Milford, Connecticut. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and the Newcomers Club of Brandon. Mrs. Mahieu was a past Board of director for Center Place. For many years she managed Pat¿s Corner Gift Shop at Center Place. Mrs. Mahieu enjoyed bowling league, playing cards, traveling to Biloxi, Mississippi, Las Vegas and loved cooking and entertaining. Her kind, happy, generous nature gained hr many friends. Survivors include her daughters, Debria (Ronald) Fran¿ois; Bernadette Heyse; Denise (Nelson A.K.A. Lawrence) Gardner, grandchildren, Jebin; Jeena; Jennifer; Brian; and her great-grandchildren, Noah, Alexis, Torin and her beloved dachshund, ¿Lucy¿. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Louis J. Mahieu. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home.
