Dorothy J. Chapman, 88, of Riverview, FL passed away on March 8, 2025. She was born on July 29, 1936 in Chicago, Illinois to Donald Robbins and Helen Ritter Robbins. Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Sonia Nunez (Chris) Monk, grandchildren, Corey Fals and Katie Larmeu (Brion) Hannan, great-grandchildren, Breanna Larmeu and Braydon Hannan. She is preceded in death by her sister, Aline Nunez, husband, Joachim W. Nunez, Jr. deceased Sept. 7, 1981 (New Orleans, Louisiana), and James Chapman deceased December 22, 2016 (Tampa, Florida).
Dorothy left Chicago and moved down to New Orleans with her family to Louisiana at a very young age. She was active in her community and church. She was a Sunday school teacher, worship leader, orchestra member, home group bible study leader, nursing home ministry, involvement in street evangelism groups, and choir member at her church for many years. Dorothy enjoyed reading in her free time and sewing. She also loved cooking and spending time with her family.
Dorothy was also a professional businesswoman working as Supervisor in hospitality and also served many years as Property Managers for apartment complexes, hotels, colleges, etc.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Dorothy at 1:00 pm on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at Radiant Church (1310 John Moore Rd.
Brandon, FL 33511).
