IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dorothy L.
Carver
January 7, 1935 – May 16, 2024
Dorothy Carver, 89, passed away peacefully at her home on May 16, 2024. Born on January 7, 1935, in Gibsonton, Florida, she now resides in her heavenly home surrounded by dear loved ones who have gone before her.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, George and Clara Restall, sister Betty McGowan, brother George Restall, sons Rocky Carver and Anthony Tubbs, and grandson Cole Boyd.
Dorothy is survived by her husband Robert (Charlie), her three daughters Sandy, Lynn, and Susan, her sister Wilma (aka Snookie) and her brother Buddy (Kristy). She has 5 surviving grandchildren Chad (May), Nikki (Kevin), Travis (Amanda), Ashlee (Jevon) and Char'Lee. Proud great grandmother to Kandace, Cullen, Gavyn, Kameron, Bailey, Paislee, Jacob, Dakota, Rylee, Ava, Rocky, Reid, and Ethan.
Married on September 26, 1953, to the love of her life,
Charlie, their 70 plus years together have been an inspiration to all who know
them. For better or for worse, through
thick and thin, through all the ups and downs on the roller coaster ride we
call life, they never wavered in their devotion to each other. Hand in hand, they stood together to face all
that life threw at them. A partner not
only in life, but also in business, she was instrumental in the success of many
family business ventures. This one-time
beauty queen was not afraid to roll up her sleeves and get dirty as a tropical fish
farmer, cattle rancher, and real estate entrepreneur, just to name a few.
As a mother, she was always there when we needed her most,
offering love, support and wisdom in abundance. Forever welcoming, her house
was always full of the laughter of family and friends. A fabulous cook that specialized in feeding
large groups of people (which probably explains the full house), she wouldn't
let you leave without your belly full. Aside
from her cooking, she was especially proud of her yard full of beautiful and
fragrant plants and trees. Finally, what former beauty queen doesn't have an
eye for fashion? She was always dressed for the occasion and loved to shop,
especially for shoes!
As we say goodbye to this strong and beautiful woman, cherished by those who knew her, we find solace in knowing that although our hearts are broken now, we will see her again one day.
