Dorla Moss, a cherished wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, passed away on August 1, 2026, at Brandon Hospital after a valiant struggle with pulmonary fibrosis. Born in Wellsville, NY, on October 6, 1949, Dorla was the beloved daughter of the late Willis and Audrey Robinson. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth, love, and dedication that touched all who knew her.
Dorla graduated from Scio Central School in Scio, NY, in 1967, and furthered her education at the Olean Business Institute in 1968. Her career spanned various roles as an Administrative Assistant, in Sales, Accounts Receivable, and as an assistant Office Manager for companies in New York State and later in Florida after she moved there in 1987. Her professionalism and dedication were evident in every endeavor she undertook.
In January 1970, Dorla married Ronald Renko, with whom she shared many years before beginning a new chapter of her life. In April 1993, she married Gary Moss, her devoted husband of 33 years, who resides in Valrico, FL. Together, they built a life filled with love and laughter, enriched by their family and friends.
Dorla is survived by her loving husband, Gary; her sisters Sharon Clark of Concord, NC, and Sharlotte Smith of Andover, NY. She was the proud and loving mother of her son, Brian Renko (Carolyn) of Grey, GA, and her daughters, Lisa Looney (Matt) of Riverview, FL, and Laurie Harrell (Tim) of Brandon, FL. Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren, Logan Renko, Elaina Nall, Joshua Looney, Riley Looney, Hanna Harrell, and Tyler Harrell; and her precious great-granddaughter, Emery Looney.
Dorla has always been passionate and caring for all her family. She will always be remembered for her warmth and loving nature as a daughter, sister, and mother. Her nurturing spirit and vibrant personality left an indelible mark on those she met and loved throughout her life.
A memorial service to honor Dorla's life will be held on August 9, 2026, at 12:00 PM at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home, located at 6919 Providence Rd, Riverview, FL. Family and friends are invited to share in the celebration of her life, as we remember the joy and love she brought into the world.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Dorla's memory to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, located in Chicago, IL, as a tribute to her courageous fight and to support others affected by this condition.
