Donald Albert Novatny, 86, passed away peacefully April 12, 2022.  He was born in St. Louis, Missouri, and lived there until moving to Ft. Myers, Florida in 1992.  He is preceded in death by his parents John A. Novatny and Vivian E. Novatny, his brother Gary T. Novatny, and his loving wife of 58 years, Barbara Mace Novatny.  He is survived by his son John  Novatny (wife Valerie), daughter Laura West (husband Mark), grandchildren Ryan Novatny, Christopher Novatny, Jack Novatny, Joshua West (wife Michayla), Christopher West (wife Caroline), Luke West, great-grandchildren Penelope West, Clementine West, Arya West, and Josephine West.

After graduating from Washington University, Don had a life-long career with Laclede Gas Company where he retired as president in 1992.  He enjoyed tennis, hunting, and traveling the world with his wife and dear friends.  His most precious times were spent with his children, grandsons, and great-granddaughters.

A private family service will be held at a later date.  Memorial contributions can be made to the Harry Chapin Food Bank (3760 Fowler Street, Ft. Myers, Florida 33901) or the American Parkinson's Disease Association.
