Donald Bradley Hurst, "Don", passed away peacefully on May 13, 2021. Don was born October 17, 1931 in Hamilton, Ohio to Addie Combs Hurst and Bradley Hurst. A three-time proud veteran, Don joined the Army at 17 and re-enlisted twice in the Air Force. Don continued his service as a civilian working at the Kennedy Air Force Base, where he had the great pleasure of running the radar system that tracked the rockets for the Apollo space missions. Don later moved to Robins Air Force Base and then to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base before retiring and settling back in Florida.

Don was a true renaissance man, with wide-ranging gifts in electronics, mechanics, wood working, art, and music. Don loved playing the guitar, attending church, and spending time with his family and friends.

Don met the love of his life, Catherine "Stella" Cafaro while stationed at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa. They were married for 42 years, and were blessed with four children, Sabrina Hosler, Joseph Deven Hurst, Sandia Wasserman (David), and Tia Howard (Will); thirteen grandchildren (Jacob, Sydney, Logan, Trevor, Izellah, Seth, and Giana); and eleven great-grandchildren.

Don was predeceased by Stella and is survived by his children and grandchildren.

A funeral service honoring Don will be held May 28, 2021 at 2 pm, at Serenity Meadows in Riverview.
