Donald L. Higgins, of Valrico, passed away on September 14, 2023 in Hospice care. Don was 86 years old, born on August 25, 1937 in New Berlin, NY. He was a dairy farmer for many years and was a part of numerous organizations including President of Dairy Farmers, Incorporated. He loved watching sports, especially the Gators. He was an amazing dad who was always active in his children's lives and was never too busy if they needed anything. He will be greatly missed by all. Don is preceded in death by the love of his life for over 40 years, Melody (Cookie) Higgins, his parents Harold and Ruth Hall Higgins, and the mother of his children Bertha Andrews. Don is survived by his children: Katrina Higgins, Barrett Higgins (Stephanie), Kevin Higgins (Denise), Chris Higgins (Cristal), Robert Rex (Kim), Debbie Heddon, and David Rex. He has 15 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.

There will be a memorial service on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at 11am at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home, with visitation one hour prior. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Suncoast Hospice of Hillsborough .
