Burnett, Rev. Delbert M, 84, went to be with the Lord on July 22, 2017. He was
born in Galloway, FL. He attended Wimauma High School, Manatee Community
College, Roanoke College, Salem, Virginia (BS Degree) and Southeastern Baptist
Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, NC (Master of Divinity). He served 4 years
in the Air Force during the Korean War. He pastored four churches in North Carolina including Warren Plains Baptist Church (Warren Plains), Unity Baptist Church (Henderson), Buckhorn Baptist Church, (Como) and Bull Creek Baptist Church (Mars Hill). He also pastored the First Baptist Church in Ellenton, FL. In addition to pastoring he enjoyed gardening and sharing the benefits with others. He was preceded in death by parents Rev. Fred Sr. and Catherine Burnett; brother Allison Burnett; sisters Mary Catherine Linzy, Beryl Fernandez and brother-in- law Bert Fernandez. Survivors include sons, James M. Burnett (Barbara), Anthony T. Burnett (Leah); mother of sons, Billee Poor Burnett; sister Bebe Riker (Lee); brother Fred Burnett Jr. (Pauline); brother-in- law Art Linzy and 4 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday July 29, 2017 Serenity Meadows Funeral Home, 6919 Providence Road, Riverview, FL.
Family will receive guests 1 hour prior to service. Graveside service will take place at Hurrah Cemetery following service. Pallbearers include: Zachary Burnett, Michael Holstein, Toby Linzy, David Henry, Wesley Riker, Bob Goralczyk, Brandon Burnett.
