IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Deborah Jean
Parker
May 20, 1953 – October 11, 2025
Deborah Jean Parker, beloved sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2025, in Brandon, Florida, at the age of 72. Born on May 20, 1953, in Hamilton, Ohio, Deborah was the daughter of the late Weldon and Joan Walker.
Deborah was a proud graduate of the first graduating class of Conner High School, Hebron, KY in 1971. Deborah earned a scholarship to attend the Cumberland College in Williamsburg, Kentucky, where she received her bachelor's degree in mathematics. Though she originally aspired to become a teacher, her career path took a different turn when she began working at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio. There, she discovered a passion for computer programming—a field still in its infancy at the time—and ultimately became a program tester. In 1995, Deborah moved to Florida and continued her work in the tech industry at Franklin Templeton, where she remained until her retirement.
Deborah had a deep love for travel, crafting, and celebrating every holiday with joy and enthusiasm, always making sure the house was decorated. She especially adored Disney, holding annual passes and often spending solo days immersed in the magic. She loved all the Disney Princesses but Aurora, also known as Sleeping Beauty, was her favorite. She treasured time spent with her nephews and niece, creating memories with them on countless trips.
Faith played an important role in Deborah's life. She was an active member of Hope United Methodist Church in New Port Richey, Florida, where she involved in the annual Walk Through Bethlehem program for several years. Her kindness, warmth, and generous spirit touched all who knew her.
She is survived by her loving sister, Donna (Tim) Ward; her nephews, Joshua (Mitch) Ward and Jacob (Kelly) Ward; her niece, Taylor Ward; and her great-nieces and nephews, Griffyn, Noah, Addison, Avery, and Daniel. She will also be missed by her extended family, cherished friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know her.
A celebration of Deborah's life will be held on Saturday, October 25th, at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home, 6919 Providence Road, Riverview, Florida 33578. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m.
The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to LifePath Hospice and the dedicated staff at HCA Brandon Hospital, especially Dr. Jon-Paul—fondly known as "Doc"—for their compassionate care during Deborah's final days.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Deborah's memory to LifePath Hospice or the American Heart Association.
Deborah's life was one marked by love, laughter, faith, and a deep appreciation for the little joys that make life magical. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
