Olinger, David Arturo "Dave O" , 31 passed away June 19, 2008 in Baghdad, Iraq. He was born in Bartow, Florida, spent his early childhood years in Gainesville, Florida. He has resided in the Brandon, Florida area since 1988. David graduated from Bloomingdale High School Class of 1995. He was an active member of the wrestling team and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
Following high school graduation, David proudly served his country in the United States Navy, Special Operations. During his service, David was decorated with the Navy Achievement Medal, Good Conduct Medal, National Service Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Naval Parachutist Insignia, Joint Unit Meritorious Unit Commendation. David was also awarded the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal. David served as a Communication Expert with the Special Weapons Combat Crew, member of the Special Boat Team Twenty. For the past three years, David, has been working overseas as a Communications Expert in High Threat Security Operations and as a Special Security Team member.
David is survived by his parents: Richard and Elsa Olinger, his brother, Ryan Olinger, sister-in law-Bobbie-Jo Olinger, nephew, Jacob Olinger; and maternal grandmother Gloria B. Fuentes, as well as numerous other family and friends.
Visitation will be held Thursday, June 26, 2008, 6pm-8pm at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home. A Celebration of David's life will be held at 11am, Friday, The Crossing Church; Tampa, Florida with interment to follow Serenity Meadows Memorial Park.
