Mann, David James, 87, of Valrico, FL, passed away on August 31, 2015. He was born in 1928 in Brooklyn, NY. He joined the Navy Seabees at the age of 15 and served during WWII in the South Pacific. When he came home he moved to New Hyde Park, NY and owned his own business on Long Island, Watson-White Appliance Co in Greenvale, NY. In 1990 he joined the Navy Seabee Veterans of America and became a very active member, serving as the Commander and Treasurer of Seabees Island X-11, and as the Vice Commander of Seabees Island X-2. He was also a member of H2U since 1992. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Virginia Mann; daughter, Ginny Marston of Valrico, FL; son, David Mann of Dover Plains, NY; brother, Bill Mann of Venice, FL; grandchildren, Cassi, Missy, and Christina Marston of Valrico, FL and Courtney and Emily Mann of Dover Plains, NY. There will be a memorial service on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home, with a visitation one hour prior.
