David "D.J." Kenneth James, 41, of Valrico, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 26, 2010. Born in St.Cloud, Minnesota, he had been a local resident since 2006 coming here from Great Falls, Montana. D.J. was retired from the United States Air Force, Special Operations Central (SOCCENT) and was currently employed with L3 Communications. He enjoyed his family, motorcycles and camping. Survivors include his loving wife of 12 years, Kanina, son; Garrett, daughter; Danielle, parents; Donald and Antoinette "Toni" James, sister; Donna (David) Edmunds and his maternal grandmother, Helen L. Gerritsen. The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 2, 2010 at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. A Celebration of D.J.'s Life will follow at 3:00 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to Disabled American Veterans or the Humane Society.
