Cyril Ahyew went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 30, 2025, at the age of 75, in Tampa, Florida. Born on July 15, 1949, to Marjorie and Neville Ahyew in Barataria, Trinidad. His family moved to Arouca in his youth, where he attended the Arouca Boys RC Primary School.

He then went to the highly respected Holy Cross College in Arima, Trinidad. After finishing his education, he started his career at the Trinidad Central Statistical Office where he provided his services up until his retirement.

Cyril Ahyew aka "Ril", "Chin", "Chinee", or "Jap" was an avid sportsman, particularly cricket, and was known in Arima as an all rounder. He was an acclaimed all fours player, both in Trinidad & Tobago and Brooklyn, New York. "Ril" was known for his love of cooking, music, dancing and his sense of humor.

He is survived by his loving wife Camille, his one and only daughter Cherisse, and grandpup - Petey.

He was the brother of Patricia, Marlene, Emily (all deceased), Joey, Carl (deceased) Lynette and Carol. Brother-in-law of Moyin, Mirza (deceased), Liquat (deceased),  Kazim, Asheera, Narda, Bobby, Nicol, Angela, Shamin, and Alvin. He was the treasured uncle of many, and friend of the Gomes', Rivas', Moras', Dexter, Margaret, and Mike.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at 1 pm at Christ the King Church in Tampa, Florida.

The viewing will be held on Thursday, April 10, 2025, from 11 am to 1 pm, followed by the burial at 1 pm at  Serenity Meadow Memorial Park in Riverview, Florida

Cyril will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.
