Curtis Allen Peterson, GySgt/USMC, retired, 75, formerly of Mineral, VA., passed away peacefully September 1, 2014 at Tampa General Hospital in Tampa, FL.
Curtis was born October 21, 1938, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He served honorably in the United States Marine Corps for 20 years, becoming a dairyman after retiring from the military. His love of animals was well known.
Survivors include six children, daughters Maria Diane Peterson and husband, David Alexander of Pacifica CA , Kimberly Ann Costella and husband, Rob, of Kingsport, TN, and Debra Kay Golub and husband, Mike of Williamsburg, VA; sons Robert Allen Peterson and wife, Christine of Newport News, VA, William Anthony Peterson and wife, Kristin of Riverview, FL, David Michael Peterson and wife, Billie Ruth of Moody, AL; seven grandchildren, Myles England and wife Allison , Kayla and William Peterson, Rebecca, Ryan, and Gregory Golub, Nicholas Costella; one great granddaughter, Adelaide England; two sisters, Myra Bagenstos & Jean Emery; and brother-in-law Ernest Kapustka. Curtis was preceded in death by his wife or 47 years, Marian Yvonne Hall, parents Gladys Pearl Vaughn & John Leroy Peterson and sister Geneva Ratcliff.
Military graveside service with full honors will be held at Quantico National Cemetery, September 24, 2014 at 1pm.
