Obituary

Connor Marshall Oldham, of Lithia, Florida, was taken to his heavenly father on August 24, 2019.  He was born on December 27, 1996 in New Orleans, Louisiana, the son of Kenneth and Stephanie Oldham.

A Marine brat, he had the opportunity to live in six different locations including Fredericksburg, Virginia, Okinawa, Japan, O'Fallon, Illinois and Stuttgart, Germany.

The overwhelming theme in Connor's life was kindness and love. He was tender hearted, gracious gentle and supportive which he coupled with an infectious grin and laugh.  He never let an opportunity pass to tell you he loved you. There was not a judgmental bone in his body which was clearly evident by his diverse group of friends. He always made sure people around him we 're happy and smiling. He pushed not only himself but those around him to achieve their personal best, their " PR " .  This was especially true in the weight room where he excelled.  At his best, he could surpass 1500 pounds in the squat, bench and dead lift combined. He loved his gym time with his friends and was always willing to help one develop their own workout plan and push them to achieve their goals. He loved to participate in comic cons and demonstrated his imagination and creativity in the customs he created. As a young soccer player in Europe, his teammates looked to him as a leader and role model, often taking on the most difficult positions , even though he would rather play elsewhere, to support his team especially as their goaltender. He was the specialist with the "outside of the foot" shot that would freeze a goalie in place on a free kick, thanks Coach Reid. He enjoyed his time hunting and fishing when living in the Midwest with his dad and brother.  He enjoyed touring the sights with his family while in Europe which was highlighted by his tours of Normandy and Bastogne.  He was the best traveling companion one could ask for. Connor was also a tremendous historian with a focus on the Civil War and World War II .  He collected artifacts from both that were his prized possessions. He had a strong desire to serve.  His real desire was to serve in the military as had his grandfathers and dad had before him; unfortunately, this was prevented by childhood medical conditions. Yet he found ways to serve both his family and friends in many different ways . He was always the first to lend a helping hand. On numerous occasions he dr agged his dad out of the house to help clear roads after a storm or help pull someone from a ditch. Posts on Facebook from his many friends highlight the extraordinary impact he had on so many lives.  It is breathtaking. This was highlighted by his personal decision to be an organ donor.  His death enabled six different people to receive life saving organ transplants, two more people will receive their vision back, and up to 75 people will receive tissue donations. A tremendous son, brother grandson, and friend, his presence is sorely missed.

Connor is survived by his parents Kenneth and Stephanie of Lithia ; his brother Ryan and his sister Shannon , attending the University of Central Florida and the University of Alabama respectively.  He also leaves his maternal grandparents, Wayne and Patricia Gibbons , of Bumpass, Virginia ; and his paternal grandparents, Ronald and Anella Oldham of Bonner Springs, Kansas. He also leaves behind a daughter, Austyn Bissel, multiple loving aunts, uncles, and cousins as well as a long list of friends made during his journey through life.
