Obituary

Pons, Clinton G., of Brandon, passed away on December 31, 2009. Clinton was born on April 30, 1925 in Pensacola, FL. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during WWII as a flight engineer with 450th Bomb Group 720th Squad and was a recipient of two Purple Heart medals. He retired from the United States Department of Agriculture after 42 years of service. Clinton was an active member at First Baptist Church of Brandon, serving as a deacon, head usher, and as a chairman of the food services committee. He is preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Charlotte Pons. Clinton is survived by his loving family, children, Susan Hollingsworth, Greg C. Pons and his wife Cathy, Patricia Pons, Charles "Chuck" Pons and his wife Janet; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jean and Elda Paden; and three grandchildren, Becky, Axl and Hunter. His funeral service will be on Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at 11:00 am at First Baptist Church of Brandon, with a visitation one hour prior. He will be laid to rest next to his wife Charlotte at Serenity Meadows Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Brandon Foundation.
