Obituary

"He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High

shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty."

Claudio Antonio Olivares passed away peacefully on March 28h, 2026 after a short battle with pneumonia. Born in Puesto Grande, Dominican Republic, he was passionate about God, the Virgen Mary his family and doing an honest day’s work. Claudio was a faithful servant of God; he could often be heard reading his Bible and prayers books. That strong faith carried him throughout his life and made him a living example of faith and love to his family.

Claudio left the Dominican Republic to make a better life for himself and his family over 5 decades ago and lived in New York City, but he never forgot his roots. He often returned to his beloved island, with one wish in his heart, to have family around him, organizing family reunions was something he cherished. Claudio retired and lived over two decades in the home he and his loving wife Celsa Dolores built together and raised their children in.

Claudio was a force of nature and the love he felt for his family was manifested in everything he did. Claudio never forgot and was so proud to be the son of farmers, always understanding he was blessed to be able to provide for his family. He lived his love of God by giving of his time and resources to help his family, the church and his brothers and sisters in Christ.

Claudio’s unwavering faith in our loving God was instilled in his surviving family, his loving wife of 62 years Celsa, his son Robinson, daughter Elsa, son-in-law Julio, grandchildren Christopher and Chrsitina, his loving brothers and sisters, cousins, nieces and nephews and was preceded in death by his eldest son, Claudio Rafael.

May Claudio Antonio Olivares rest in peace and may the choir of angels welcome him home to our Father’s house. May his family find strength and solace in the memories of the love they shared, the wonderful stories he told and in the knowledge that this is not our home and we will one day to be together again.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11am on Tuesday, April 7th, 2026, at St. Anne Catholic Church located at 106 11th Ave NE, Ruskin, FL 33570. Friends and family are invited to join in remembrance and support during this difficult time.
