Obituary

Simons, Claude W., 93, of Riverview, Fl., formerly of Baldwinsville, N.Y., and Manistee, MI., passed away on December 2, 2015. He is preceded in death by his wife, Frances (Gilbert) Simons; daughter Cathy O'Donnell, and brothers; Warren Simons and Fred Simons. Claude proudly served in the U.S. Navy during WWII, on the USS Lexington and the USS Cabot. He earned his Mechanical Engineering degree from Michigan State University, retiring from Packaging Corporation of America, Manistee, MI. and Allied Chemical, Syracuse, NY. Golf, bridge, Friday night get togethers with friends and any competitive mind challenge were some of his favorites. Summers at the cottage, boating and fishing, daily raising, lowering, and folding of the American flag, teaching the importance of patriotism were all a part of who he was. Claude's grandchildren and great grandchildren were the joy in his life. He is survived by loving family; son Robert Simons of Baldwinsville, NY., daughter Judy ( Larry) Warrick of Valrico, Fl., grandchildren; David O'Donnell of Centreville, VA., Kelly (Kevin) Sydloski of Cedar Springs, MI., Aubrey (David) Ninkovich of Apollo Beach, Fl., and Kevin (Christal) Warrick of Apollo Beach, Fl., and great grandchildren; Ainsley Ninkovich, Ian Ninkovich, Quinn Ninkovich, and Vivie Warrick. We shall miss you so much Dad, Grandpa, Papa. A spring burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery in Manistee, MI.
