C.J. (Sid) Sutton, 89, of Riverview, Florida, died peacefully in his home, surrounded by his family, on April 10, 2010. Born in New Kensington, Pennsylvania, Sid followed his heart and passions wherever they led him. He traveled the world throughout his life and was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend.
After serving in World War II, Sid joined the Sheet Metal Workers' Union, Local 33. He moved to Mentor, Ohio, where he raised his family. He moved his family to Florida in 1982, after he "retired," if a man like Sid can ever be said to have done such a thing.
Through his trade, he left his mark, as he was involved in the construction of many of the structures that shaped Cleveland's skyline. Sid left his mark in other ways, too. He had a zest for life that he instilled in his family and shared with all those lucky enough to spend time in his presence. He didn't know any strangers, only friends. He was an avid pilot and motorcyclist. He lived and loved life with a reckless abandon we should all be so fortunate to witness, let alone experience.
Sid is survived by his wife of 43 years, Sue, son Jim, daughters Patti Belt (Ron Werner), Sidne' (Michael) Goodwin, Shea (Michael) Huet, grandson Jimmy Sutton, granddaughters Jeni Belt, Jami Belt (Travis Rosenketter), Taylor, Reagan, and Camryn Huet, Jenae and Jaden Goodwin, and great granddaughter Laura Williams.
The family will receive friends from 9:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. with memorial services beginning at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, April 13, 2010, at Serenity Meadows, 6919 Providence Rd., Riverview, FL 33578. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to LifePath Hospice, www.life-path-hospice.org.
