Gavelek, Charles F. "Charlie", 87, of Riverview, passed away on April 8, 2010. Charles was a proud member of the United States Air Force, serving during WWII and the Korean War. He is survived by his loving family, wife of 34 years, Phyllis Gavelek; children, Chuck (Cindy) Gavelek, Jr., Cathy (Lance) Mindheim, Gayle (Rudy) Chimo, Vicki (Arthur) Blankenship, Jerri (Jay) Laubenthal and Debbie (Tom) Frazier; brother, JC Gavelek; sister, Dottie Kanarowski; and 11 grandchildren. There will be a visitation on Sunday, April 11, 2010 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home, with a service at 6:00 pm. Charles will be laid to rest at Florida National Cemetery on Monday, April 12, 2010 at 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be to the American Diabetes Association at www.diabetes.org
