Cathy, beloved mother and grandmother passed away peacefully January 7th, 2022, after a sudden illness with blood pressure and kidney failure. She is survived by her son Philip McPherson, daughter Amber McPherson, grandchildren Aaron Carter, Madison McPherson, and Cody Dyer. Cathy was born February 27th, 1945, in Sioux City Iowa to Gerald and Fran Clark. She attended Mt. Vernon Township High school in Illinois. She went on to Southern Illinois University and studied music, opera, and choral. She attained her B.S and Master's in music and English. She traveled and lived in California, Missouri and Florida. She went on to fulfill a lifetime of teaching and retired in 2008. She dedicated her life to teaching, service to others, her church, fostering, and family. She loved singing, going to concerts, bowling, and helping everyone she ever met. She loved taking care of her grandchildren and somehow always knew what we needed. Cathy had a big heart and was always helping everyone along their journey. She served as a guardian ad Litem and a foster mother. She will be missed by all. We know God has taken her home and that she is leading the Angel Choir in heaven.

Nearly every moment of every day we have the opportunity to give something to someone else - Our Time, Our Love, and Our Resources.  Cathy found her joy in giving to others.  Let that be how you remember her.
