Carol Anne
Menard
April 30, 1939 — January 6, 2020
Carol Anne Riebe-Menard was born on April 30 th , 1939 and died peacefully with family by her side, at the age of 80.
Carol was born in Detroit, Michigan where she resided most of her life. After graduating High School, she completed secretarial courses, soon to be replaced by marriage and family. She was married on June 21 st 1958 to John Riebe Jr. and together they raised 4 children. As a wife and mother, Carol spent her days caring for her family, and nights working at Bates Hamburgers to help contribute, always remembering to bring donuts home each morning to her children as a good behavior bribe. Throughout the early years of her life, Carol always found a way to provide memorable experiences for her children. Some of the best times were spent ice skating, tobogganing, day trips to the lake, Camp Dearborn vacations, and bus trips to Detroit Tiger Stadium to watch her favorite baseball Team. Carol found great joy watching her only son play little league baseball, and years of Hockey. Carol had a very strong desire to pass on her domestic skills to her daughters. She spent many hours teaching them to cook, sew, crochet, and most off all how to sale shop. In 1974 due to her husbands career advancements, her family was relocated to Saginaw Michigan, where Carol was blessed with many new friends in her community. She lived a very full life with her husband John enjoying numerous John Hancock work convention trips, couple card nights, cross country skiing, and ballroom dancing. Carol and John became very active members of Marriage Encounter through the Catholic Church. In 1984 her husbands career again relocated them to Grosse Ille, Michigan where Carol loved the beauty of the Island. She resided there until her husband passed away in 1986. She then enjoyed wintering in Florida, and the summers in Michigan, as well as traveling in-between. In 2014 Carol moved to Brandon, Florida where she could be close to her daughters. Carols faith in God, our Lord continued to grow throughout her life. Her sense of humor and compassion for others will be greatly missed. The family wishes to thank all those at Aldea Green Assisted Living and LifePath Hospice for their Love and compassion during her final days.
Carol will forever be in the hearts of her family and friends. She is survived by her children Stephen (Odilia) Riebe, Jacqueline (Louis) Pitisci, Pamela Egloff, and Susanne (Robert) Crosley. Grandchildren: Sarah Riebe, Romulo Alvarado III, Jeremy Alvarado, Emily Alvarado, Stephanie "Adonia" (Tim) Emerson, Tiffany(Reggie) Jones, John Egloff, Andrew(Hannah) Archambault, Lucas Crosley, Noah Crosley, and was blessed with many Great-Grandchildren.
Carol is preceded in death by her husband of 28 years, John Riebe Jr., and her Grandson Joshua Egloff.
